Theresa Marie Feley Montague - Age 69, of Linden, passed away July 14, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, July 21, 2023 at Linden Presbyterian Church, 119 W. Broad St., Linden, MI 48451 with Pastor Dawn Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM - 11 AM Friday at the church. Theresa was born in Lima, Ohio on 3/16/54. She is survived by her son Jarrod Montague, daughter Natalie McCarley, daughter-in-law Stephanie Montague, son-in-law Keith McCarley, grandchildren Maxwell, Evan, Mila, Liv Baliey, Weston Montague, Kaylin Reed, and Scarlett McCarley, nephews and nieces Darrell & Lea Collins and Mike & Chris Sheick, and many other extended family members. She graduated from Linden High School in 1972 and married the love of her life, Doug Montague of Holly that same year. Two months later, Doug was drafted into the U.S. Army and they moved to Texas while Doug completed his AIT at Fort Bliss in El Paso. After a 13-month deployment to Korea to support the Vietnam War effort, Theresa and Doug returned to Michigan. Jarrod was born on 1/28/76 and Natalie on 9/22/78. Theresa was a loving mother and focused on raising her children while they were young. Once they were of school age, she started working at Flint Osteopathic Hospital (F.O.H.) for a few years. She then got into the United States Postal Service where she worked primarily in Lansing for many years. She also volunteered as the Sunday School Superintendent for 20 years at the Linden Presbyterian Church and was an engaged member of the community. Theresa is remembered by her family and friends for being a very loving, caring, kind, and smart woman who treated everyone as family. Her home was the place where many of the kids’ friends would congregate, and she would drop everything to help a family member, neighbor, or friend in need. Theresa was fully committed to her family. She enjoyed bike rides, annual family vacations to Cedar Point, Mackinac, and Tawas, music, movies, concerts, and helping her family with absolutely anything they needed. She loved being outside and near the water with her kids and grandkids, whether pool, lake, or ocean. Theresa was a disciple of Jesus and often marveled at the ways that she felt His presence in her daily life. Though she will be immensely missed by those that loved her, her family will find comfort knowing that she has returned home to God, her Creator, to be reunited with Doug. Donations in her name may be made to the Linden Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers. Arrangements entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden, MI 48451.
