Jankowski Jr., Theodore Paul “Ted” of Burbank, California (formerly of Flint, Michigan) passed away unexpectantly on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the age of 53. Ted was born on November 7, 1966 in Flint to Theodore Sr. and Sandra Jankowski.
Ted graduated in 1984 from Ainsworth High School, is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, attended Baker College, and later earned his Universal EPA 608 HVAC certification.
Ted had many interests and hobbies including karaoke (his signature song was Blue Swede’s “Hooked On A Feeling”), computers, genealogy, cars (especially corvettes), music, pitbull dogs, fixing any and everything, Les Misérables, astronomy, cooking, public access TV production, and helping people in general. While in Michigan, he hosted the “Ted Jankowski Show” on Comcast Channel 17. Ted was an easy going, laid back guy, but could be very passionate about politics and current events. He loved to discuss and debate with others on various forums who had similar or opposing viewpoints, because he said he liked to hear all sides.
Ted was employed by Sandstone Properties in Sherman Oaks, California as an Operating Building Engineer. He absolutely loved his job and coworkers. Ted drove part-time for Uber (giving his tip money to those less fortunate), also doing the occasional uShip delivery as he was travelling across the U.S. trying to visit all 50 states. Ted loved to be hands-on, was extremely detailed, and took pride in everything he did.
Surviving is his longtime love Cathy Down; his mother Sandy; brother Tim (Melissa) Jankowski; sister Stephanie (Alan) Gibbs; nephews Andrew, Jacob and Aaron; nieces Ainsley, Leah and Sara; and all of his wonderful family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Ted Sr., grandparents Fred & Irene Sullivan and Ted & Margaret Jankowski, as well as his beloved fur babies.
The family would like to thank God for bringing Ted into this world and sharing him with us. Ted was full of fun, love and laughter, and touched so many lives, and made an imprint on our hearts forever.
Contributions can be made to the family to help bring Ted back to his final resting place in his home state of Michigan. A Memorial Service will be planned at Great Lakes National Cemetery Spring 2021. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
