Theodore Eckman

ECKMAN, Theodore George - Age 83, of Hartland, died December 24, 2014. Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, December 27 at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor James Mascow officiating. Visitation will be held 1 PM until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church. Private interment at Hodge Cemetery, Hartland. Mr. Eckman was born December 18, 1931 in Englewood, NJ, the son of George Ernst and Florence (Johnson) Eckman. He was a graduate of Wayne State University and a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired in 1995 from General Motors Proving Ground, Milford; he was a Chemical Engineer. He married Jean on October 19 1996. He served on the Hartland Township Board and Planning Commission and was a volunteer fireman with Hartland Township. He is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Susan Lynn (Tom) Vrenios of Illinois, Daniel George Eckman of Walled Lake, Matthew Arnold (Jami) Eckman of Hartland, Andrew John (Kris) Eckman of Pinckney; step-children Kimberly Lynn (Mark) Duncan of Annapolis MD, William Peter (Shelly) Kooistra of Grand Haven, Kristen Jean (Craig) DeYoung of Grand Rapids, Allison C. (Sean) Breen of Silver Spring, MD; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Elizabeth (Gary) Gilmore of LaCross, WI. He was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elaine VanDorn.
