Theodore Bennett

BENNETT, Theodore Richard - Age 90, of Linden, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020.  Cremation has taken place and a military graveside service will be held at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society.

Ted was born June 13, 1929 in Flint the son of William S. and Freda N. (Nagle) Bennett.  He was a graduate of Flint Tech High School and received a Bachelor's Degree from Central Michigan University.  He married Betty Ruth Brunette December 30, 1951 in Flint.  He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy.  Ted retired from AC Spark Plug after 30 plus years of service.  He then worked for the American Diabetes Association as the director of the Western Michigan and the Upper Peninsula regions.  He also worked for Linden True Hardware and he drove cars for Vic Canever Chevrolet.  Ted was a member of the Linden V.F.W. Price Crane Robinson Post #4642 and the Linden Lions Club.  He taught woodworking in the Adult Education at Linden Community School.

Surviving are: his wife of 68 years, Betty; 3 daughters, Barbara Shoemaker and Alan Shoemaker of Linden, Sandra (Michael) Holloway of Linden, and Melissa (Michael) Swartz of Burton; 6 grandchildren, Luke Shoemaker (Kady Morgan) of Linden, Carlen Shoemaker (Russell Voss) of Grand Blanc, Mackenzie Swartz of Whitmore Lake, Mitchell Swartz of Burton, Rachel Holloway of Linden, and Lauren Holloway of Linden; great grandson, Winston Voss; brother, Roy Bennett of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
