Theodore Hubbard Barbier

Theodore "Ted" Hubbard Barbier, age 83, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at McLaren Regional Medical Center, Flint. Private arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Ted was born on September 9, 1940 in Detroit the son of the late Theodore and Virginia (Hubbard) Barbier. He was raised on Hickory Island and lived next to the yacht club where he learned boating and sailing skills. Ted was an avid boater all his life and even sailed in the Port Huron to Mackinac regatta. He also enjoyed building and remodeling and loved building decks. Ted graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in accounting and went on to own Barbier & Associates doing accounting for various businesses. He handled the accounting for Tadrick’s Tax Service for over 30 years. Ted enjoyed having fun with his friends and liked parties at his “ranch” in Byron. He lived in Fenton, Byron, and eventually moved to Swartz Creek. Ted will be missed by his nieces, nephews, and close friends. We will all miss him as he takes his final sail into the setting sun. Ted will be interred  in the Rose Garden at St.  James Episcopal Church, in Grosse Isle Michigan, along side many generations of the Barbier family.
