CARTER, Thelma Candice - Age 78, of Flint, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Rev. Gerald St. Cin will officiate. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 2-5 & 7-9 PM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Avalon Hospice. Thelma was born September 10, 1929 in Flint, the daughter of Bruner  A. and Nannie C. (Huffman) Carter and had lived in Flint her entire life. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and Baker Business University. Thelma was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a charter member of Westwood Church of God. She retired from the City of Flint with many years of service. She was a special, loving and generous person to all. Surviving are: three brothers, Lloyd T. Carter of Cadillac, Leonard M. Carter and wife Sally of Flint, Samuel G.S. Chapman and wife Judith of Flushing; sister, Clara M. Brodie of Flint Twp.; several nieces and nephews; dear friends, Sharon, Jean and George Mawdsley and Chuck Jarman. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bruce Carter, Dixie Higgins, Randy Carter, Douglas Carter, Lyle Carter, Gloria Brewer, Jack Carter.
