Thelma Burke

BURKE, Thelma C. (Womack) - age 92, of Fenton, died Sunday, March 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Pastor Jim Wiegand officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Freedom Center, 2473 W Shiawassee Ave, Fenton, MI 48430. Thelma was born on November 5, 1925 in Ola, Arkansas, the daughter of Olga A. and Molly Ann (Hill) Womack. She was a 1943 graduate of Casa High School in Casa, Arkansas and married Rev. F.E. Burke on April 29, 1944 in Paris, TN. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2011 after 67 years of marriage. Thelma was a true Pastor's wife, she was very active, along side her husband, in the ministry and administration of Fenton Assembly of God Church, now the Freedom Center. Surviving are: four sons, Billy E. and wife, Bonnie of Linden, Fredrick E. and wife, Debbie of Linden, Donald L. and wife, Margaret of Gaines, John and wife, Vicky; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; sister, Jewell Wright. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Rev. F.E. Burke; two son, Mark and Robert; three brothers; and sister. Tributes may be share at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
