Tessie Mae Yakin

YAKIN, Tessie Mae- Age 82, of Swartz Creek, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Sunday December 3, 2006.  Funeral services will be held 12:30 Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Minister Mark Aites officiating.  Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3-9 PM Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Tessie Mae Yakin memorial fund.  Tessie was born August 2, 1924 in Roanoke, AL, the daughter of John David and Effie (Broach) Clark.  She married Mike Yakin August 24, 1962 in Flint and he preceded her in death November 22, 1977.  She had resided in the Flint area since 1953, coming from Alabama.  She retired from Flint Osteopathic Hospital in 1991. She was a member of Swartz Creek Church of Christ.  Surviving are: daughter, Linda Hopper of Swartz Creek; 4 grandchildren, Scott and wife Connie Hopper of Fenton, Jeffrey and wife Athena Hopper of Grand Blanc, Lisa and husband Steven Crandall of Linden, Jennifer and husband Ryan Lundgren of Swartz Creek; 8 great grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Samantha, Kelcie, Courtney, Logan, Greg and Jason.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, David Hopper and 6 brothers and a sister.
