Terry Dowland

DOWLAND, Terry Lynn- Age 55, of Mt. Morris, died July 21, 2016. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday July 29, at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Cameron Eads officiating. Interment at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 AM until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Terry was born January 4, 1961 in Flint, to Delane and Anna (Marshall) Dowland. He was a graduate of Hamady High School. He married Linda Strobel on June 13, 1981. He was a certified mechanic at Summerfield Chevrolet for many years. Terry then worked for Oil Chem in Flint where he was active in his union. He was a Harley enthusiast, enjoyed classic car shows, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his children, Megan Dowland of Mt. Morris and Ben Dowland of Mt. Morris; grandson, Blaine Dowland; sister, Tracy Smith; mother-in-law, Patricia Barber; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 30 years, Linda, on July 13, 2011, and siblings, Robert, Gary, and John. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
