MARSHKE, Terese Caroline- Age 89, of Flint, formerly of Clio and Davison, died Sunday February 6 at home surrounded by her children, after complications from surgery for a broken hip she sustained on January 4th. A memorial service will be held 3PM Monday, February 14, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Chaplain Goodman Cox officiating. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held 1PM until time of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Terese was born May 1, 1932 in Detroit, the daughter of Leo William and Rose Cecilia (Eggleston) Deloge. She married Jerome Grant Marshke on October 16, 1954, and found her calling as a loyal wife and mother of five. Terese graduated from Saint Gregory's High School in Detroit in 1950. She became proficient in shorthand helping secure her first jobs in the offices of J.L. Hudson and later Chrysler. She was awarded an Esterbrook-Gregg shorthand certificate after winning a shorthand contest. After raising her five children to high school age, she returned to the workforce as a sales consultant in foundations at Smith Bridgemans, downtown Flint. With new found time she joined the Hurley Medical Center Auxiliary where she volunteered for over 20 years, in the surgical lounge and the Lobby Shop. Terese was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2015. She lived the last 7 years gracefully facing daily challenges. She enjoyed volunteering, crosswords, her dog Maggie who she lost in 2020, and her cat Kitty. Terese's favorite show was Shark Tank but spending time with her family was what she liked the most. She is survived by her children; Lawrence (Lisa) Marshke, Michelle (Deborah) Marshke, Paula (John) Amon, Lisa (Bill) Greiner, David (Beth) Marshke; grandchildren, Kristi (Nashelle) Amon, Kassi (Jon) Cook, Brandon (Scott) Greiner, Justin Greiner, Daryl (Amy) Marshke, April Marshke, and Grant Marshke; great grandchildren, Molly, Kade, Emersyn, Olivia; sister, Marlene Theriault and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome Grant Marshke; sister, Dee Secresty, and brother Richard Deloge. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Sunita Tummala M.D. (Neurologist) Dr. Randolph Schumacher M.D. The Medical Team Hospice Staff, including Director, Kim Cox, Chaplain, Goodman Cox, and attending RN Bri Rensberry. Lastly, a most heartfelt thanks to the Medical Team Site Staff at Lockwood of Genesee (formerly American House North) Tia Jones, Latrece Jones, Michelle Woods and remarkable Site Supervisor, Sheila McDaniel who’s wisdom of people is a special gift .
