Tara Kelley

KELLEY, Tara Louise - age 53, of Kingsley, formerly of Flint, passed away October 25, 2019. Memorial Service will be held 5 PM Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Visitation 2 PM until the time of service Thursday. A Committal Service with full military honors will be held 10:30 AM, Friday, November 1, 2019 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly.  Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Humane Society.

Tara was born January 12, 1966 in Flint, the daughter of James R. and Donna Mae (Smalley) Kelley. She graduated from Bentley High School. Tara served in the US Navy for six years and later in the US Army Reserves and The National Guard all totaled for 19 years. Tara graduated from U of M Flint with a Bachelor's Degree. She has been employed as a Corrections Officer with the State of Michigan for 19 years. She and her longtime partner, Angelina Winn, loved the outdoors, camping, kayaking, and hiking Tara also loved reading and all sports and was very athletic. She loved her pet cats very much.

Tara is survived by: father, James (Sharon) Kelley; mother, Donna Mae (Smalley) Kelley; 7 brothers, Jimmy, Scott, Brian, Jeff, Sean, Keith, and Kyle; grandmother, Alice Smalley.

Tara was preceded in death by : sister, Morgan; grandfather, Papa Donald Smalley; and step brother Steven Perry.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
