BROOKS, Tanya Marie, age 41, of Fenton, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Hidden Peace Assisted Living. Funeral Services will be 11AM Monday, March 2, 2009 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 12701 W. Highland Rd., Hartland. Pastor Pamela Hansen officiating. The family will receive friends 10AM Monday until time of service at the church. Interment in Capac Cemetery, Capac. Visitation will be 1-8PM Saturday and Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Memorial donations may be made to Hidden Peace Memorial Foundation. Tanya was born April 10, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Robert Rudyj and Jean Knox. She married Tim Brooks on January 21, 1989 in Chicago. Tanya attended Indiana University earning her Associates Degree in pre-school education. She then moved to Ft. Wayne and became a pre-school teacher for Epiphany Lutheran Church. After moving to Michigan, Tanya became the visionary For Hidden Peace Assisted Living, searching for a way to comfortably enable women with Multiple Sclerosis to lead a normal life. She was a strong woman who survived multiple sclerosis and breast cancer. Faith and love were the cornerstone of her life. Tanya was a devoted mother and wife who will be missed dearly and loved forever. Surviving are her husband, Tim; 2 children, Hannah and Ross Brooks; mother, Jean Stanton (Chuck) of Illinois; brother, David Rudyj of Indiana; sister, Amanda Hajakian of Chicago; step-brother, Buddy Stanton (Debbie) of Hawaii; Heart-sister, Karen Russell and her children, Mistie Keen, Ashley Keen and Justin Hamilton; nephews, Nicholas, Jacob, Matt (Anna) Klann, Jake and Mick Klann; sister and brother-in-laws, Rhonda (Jim) Klann, Geneal Brooks, Mark (Chris) Lauwers, Mike (Stacey) Lauwers, Dan (Kellie) Lauwers, John (Cathy) Parsch, Ann Goodchild; mother and father-in- law, Dick and Mary Lauwers; 2 aunts, Cha Cha Irene and Cha Cha Mary; Grandma Stanton; Grandma Boberg and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, JauJu and Bashu Rudyj; and father and mother-in-law, Neal and Violet Brooks.
