Suzanne Mcdowell

McDOWELL, Suzanne Lorraine - Age 86, of Byron, passed away February 7, 2022. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 9450 Duffield Rd., Gaines. Fr. Steve Matson Celebrant along with Deacon Wayne Corrion. Visitation will be held 9:30 AM until the time of Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Gaines. A Luncheon will follow at the St. Joseph Church Hall. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Suzanne's memory would be appreciated to The Alzheimer's Association or The American Parkinson's Foundation.

Suzanne was born May 1, 1935 in Harbor Beach, the daughter of Andrew and Dorothy (McGlinick) Lucas. She graduated from Rudyard High School and attended Lake Superior State College. Suzanne married the love of her life, Clyde W. McDowell July 1956. They had three sons, Anthony (Gail), Terrence, deceased (Theresa), Tedd (Susan) McDowell. While raising her family, Suzanne was a substitute teacher and worked in an administrative capacity for various companies. She was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gaines where she helped clean, and assisted with Funeral Masses, and decorating the Church. Suzanne also was very dedicated to the Food Pantry at St. Joseph Church and The Women's Shelter in Flint. She enjoyed gardening, kayaking, fishing, hunting, and especially spending time with her family.

Suzanne is survived by: many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother's Ray (Alice) Lucas, and Don (Pam) Lucas; daughter in law, Theresa; several nieces and nephews.

Suzanne was preceded in death by: her parents; husband Clyde; son Terry; brother's Tom (Darlene) Lucas and Mike ( Evelyn) Lucas; sister, Joan (Paul) Warner, Delores Lucas. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
