Suzanne Croux-Lazar

LAZAR, Suzanne M. (Croux) "Tata" - age 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Oakwood-Heritage Hospital in Taylor. Services will be held 3 PM Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held from 12 PM - 3 PM Sunday. Burial will be 1 PM Monday, October 9, 2017 at Pine Plains Cemetery in Big Rapids. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Assyrian-American Club of Flint Scholarship Fund or the family. Suzanne was born on December 12, 1934 in Toscon, France, the daughter of Louis and Odette (Sabastian) Croux. She lived as a child through World War II when Germany invaded France. She left her home and family in 1954, when she married Albert David Lazar, in France. She came to the United States in 1955 and became a naturalized citizen 5 years later. Tata, as most people refer to her, was a loving caregiver to many and stepped in as a Mother, Grandmother and Friend. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, John (Hong) Lazar and their son, Zhizhong Liu; two sisters, Simone Cruz and Monique Benzie; two brothers, Jean Claude Croux and Christian (Collette) Croux; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, all in France. Her surviving American family she leaves her brother-in-law, S. David (Margaret) Lazar, nieces and nephew, Ginny, Adam, Mariam, great nephews and great niece, Ben, Emma, Hannah and Max. Nephew (son) Mark Thomas, niece (daughter) Marsha Darnell; granddaughters, Monica, Michelle and Rachel; grandson, Matthew; great-grandsons, Gabriel and Samuel. Many dear and special friends. Suzanne was a proud and devoted member of the Assyrian-American Club of Flint for over 50 years. She as preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers-in-law, Raphael Cruz and Louie Benzie; sister-in-law, ZaZa Croux.
