WHALEY, Susan Marie - Age 55, of Linden/Fenton, died very suddenly on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11-4 & 6-8 PM Friday and 10-12 PM Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Susan was born November 11, 1951 in Holly, the daughter of Harold and Violet Ruth (Thornton) Baird. She was a graduate of Fenton High School and lived in the Linden/Fenton area her entire life. She married John Ivan Whaley on May 28, 1971 in Fenton. Mrs. Whaley was employed by Fenton Schools Latchkey Program. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the Foreign Student Exchange Program. She was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are: husband John Ivan Whaley Sr.; four children, Stephen and wife Melissa Whaley of Flushing, Tracey and husband Jud Hudnut of Howell, Angie and husband Ryan Schmoekel of Pinckney, Johnnie and wife Bree Whaley of Holland; five grandchildren, Logan, Tyler and Nolan Hudnut, Breonna and Ashleigh Whaley; parents, Harold and Violet Baird; brothers and sisters, Leslie and Deanna Baird, Roy and Susie Baird, Jimmy and Lynn Baird, Ruth Ann Baird, Laura and Doug Hecox, Jeff and Mel Baird; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends; special pets, Gracie Mae, Sammie Jo and Oreo.
