SAAB-HAGEN, Susan Marie (Zupko), age 57 of Lennon, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on March 12, 2024. Per Susan's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the Sharp Funeral Home located at 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek (The service may be viewed via live stream by way of a link at the base Susan's obituary at

Susan was born on February 18, 1967 in Flint, Michigan to John George and Darlene Rose (Yager) Zupko. She attended the Carman-Ainsworth School System and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan - Flint. Susan married Jack D. Hagen on March 15, 2003 in Cozumel, Mexico and she was a fiercely devoted mother to her daughters, Bianca and Simone. She was exceptionally creative as a self taught artist and while her degree was in Psychology and she worked with children and families as a social worker in Flint and Lapeer County, her dedication to painting was her passion in addition to teaching it. Susan's artwork has won first and second place at Art Unraveled in Phoenix and second best in show at Gallery 194 Spring show in Lapeer. Her art has been displayed in Flint at Buckham Gallery, GFAC, Flint Institute of Arts, Ferris Wheel and ELGA Credit Union. Additionally, she has shown art at Swartz Creek Art Gallery, Gallery 194 in Lapeer and the Tangent Gallery in Detroit at their international show of The Damned.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jack. Cherished daughters, Bianca Saab; Simone (Kyle) Gossett; Kara (Scott) Brotebeck; Jack (Tammy) Hagen. Grandchildren, Kade (Jess) Wagner; Ryder Brotebeck; Jackson Hagen; Ty Brotebeck. Great-granddaughter; Lainey Wagner. Loving mother, Darlene (Clair) Ward. Siblings, Anne (Tim) Luker; John (Michelle) Zupko; Tom (Laura) Zupko. Aunt, Mary (Greg) Cooper. Brother-in-law, Chris Hagen and sister-in-law, Laura Hemming. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Susan's furry family, Shooter; Mogli; Reagan; Monett and her chickens. She was preceded in death by her father, John Zupko; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Jennie Hagen; sister-in-law, Colleen Hagen.
