McLarty, Susan Marie Tatus age 68, of Waterford, passed peacefully in her home Sunday, June 25, 2017.Her life will be celebrated with a Funeral mass at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 1, 2017 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 80 S. Lynn St., Waterford with Fr. James Mayworm celebrant. Visitation will be held 10:00 - 10:30 AM Saturday at the church. A private burial will be held at St. John Cemetery in Fenton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center. Susan was born November 14, 1948 in Detroit, the daughter of Peter S. and Irene D. (Gburzynski) Tatus. She married John "Jack" McLarty in 1981 and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2017. Susan was a graduate of Immaculata High School and received a bachelors and master's degree from Wayne State University in Psychology. She retired from General Motors in Systems Planning and Purchasing where she received a Life Time Achievement award from AIAG and was instrumental in developing the EDI Program. Susan was a Master Gardener for over 20 years, an animal lover, artist, singer, photographer and was known for her highly developed sarcasm, wit and sense of humor. She was an active member of St. Benedict Catholic Church where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and as a Lector. She was a gifted singer and used her talents as a soloist and member of the parish choir. Surviving are: siblings, Ronald (Kathy) Tatus of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Philip Tatus of Fowlerville, Michaeleen Tatus of Fenton, Jeffrey (Marisol) Tatus of Tuscon, Arizona, and Rick (Krys) Tatus of Fenton. 14 nieces and nephews and her dog, Kiss also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton.
