Susan Makela

MAKELA, Susan Jane - age 66, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital - Pontiac. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the chapel of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Fr. David Harvey celebrant. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Mrs. Makela was born April 3, 1948 in Flint, the daughter of Waldo and Fannie (Johnson) Titmus. She was a 1966 graduate of Grand Blanc High School and married Thomas D. Makela on September 29, 1979. He preceded her in death in 2002. Mrs. Makela was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and had been a volunteer at Linden Community Schools for many years. Surviving are: three children, Jennifer (Michael) Vernon of Linden, Kimberley Makela of Denver, CO, Nicholas (Catheryn) Makela of Linden; six grandchildren, Jacob Tomek, Alexandra Vernon, Brady, Audrey, and Parker Makela and Paisley Pivacek; sister, Geraldine Logan of Arlington, TX; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Jaimis; sisters, Mary Lois, Ruth, and Sally Ann; brother, Robert. "And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!"
