GOLEN, Susan Jeanette - Age 78, of Fenton, died Thursday, September 28, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial at 3:15 PM Monday, October 2, 2017 in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Sunday from 3-9 PM where a vigil service will be held at 7 PM and Monday at church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association or American Stroke Association. Susan was born August 18, 1939 in Detroit, the daughter of George and Irene (Loranger) Owen. She was a 1957 graduate of Fordson High School in Dearborn. She married John Golen June 28, 1958 at St. Clement Roman Catholic Church in Dearborn and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Loose Senior Center in Linden. Susan loved to play cards, scrabble, and other games, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Surviving are: 4 children, David and wife Irene Golen of Grand Blanc, Christina and husband Dave Wright of Garden City, Michelle and husband Christopher Dobiesz of Ortonville, and James and wife Heather Golen of Fenton; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, John Golen, Jr.; twin sister, Sally Gies; and brothers, Allen and George Owen.
