Carolyn Sue Dearing was born Aug. 31, 1945, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the daughter of Irvle and Gladys (Moore) Dearing. Her parents celebrated the fact that she was a peacetime baby, being born just 2 weeks after the end of World War II in which her 3 older brothers were serving. She was raised in Success, Arkansas on a family farm until the age of 10. She told stories about riding a tractor to church, because the family did not own a car at the time. She went back to Success, Arkansas to visit her roots many times as an adult. After moving to Michigan in 1955, she attended Atherton Schools, graduating in 1963. In 1965, she married Michael "Ted" Banasiak whom she was married to for 22 years. From 1974-1990, she was a resident of Davison, Mi, building her dream home and raising her 2 boys on a 6 acre former farm. In 1991, she moved to Grand Blanc, Mi where she built her new home of 31 years and had her kitchen decorated with a 50's diner theme that included a vintage Coca Cola vending machine and an antique ice box. She loved being a grandma and spent countless hours attending baseball, soccer, cheerleading, football, marching band and volleyball games of all her grandkids. Nearly every Saturday between 1997 and 2015, you could find her at home in the evening watching her grandkids, making dinner, playing with them in her yard and baking cookies for them. Sue was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church of Swartz Creek, Mi for many years. Left to remember Sue as a devoted Mother and Grandmother are sons Alan of Linden, Mi and Craig (Melanie) of Grand Blanc; Grandchildren Trevor, Justin, Natalie, Braden, Noah, and Kate; Special Daughter in Law Patricia (Hoskey) Banasiak; many close nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents Irvle and Gladys (Moore); Siblings Howard, Dennis, Jeff, Betty Rider, and Joyce Williams. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
