Stewart Menzies

MENZIES, Stewart Norman "Stu"- Age 92, of Fenton, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (A live stream of the service will be available on Stewart's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Inurnment with honors will take place 12:30 PM, Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Fr. David Harvey officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, May 17 from 4-8 PM with a Lions Club Service being held at 7 PM; and Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Stu was born December 13, 1930 in Salinas, CA, the son of Stewart and Janet (Seale) Menzies. He was a graduate of Alameda High School in Alameda, CA; he attended the University of California and he graduated from General Motors Institute with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. Stu married Nancy Patricia Freeman November 10, 1962 in Royal Oak. He had resided in Fenton since 1967 coming from Atlanta, GA. He retired from General Motors after 41 years as a Engineer. He was a very active member of the Fenton Lions Club. He was a Scout Leader for both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts; he also was involved with Junior Achievement.

Surviving are: his wife of 60 years, Nancy; children, Steven (Paula) Menzies of Williamsburg, VA, Robert (Kelly) Menzies of Brimley, Bradley Menzies of Argentine, Brian Menzies of Durand, Rebecca (Robert) Joslin of Fenton and David (Michelle) Menzies of Linden; grandchildren, Jason, Daniel, Kayla, Cory, Rose, Cassie, Colin, Logan, Kaiden, Sage and Jasper; great granddaughter, Aria.
