Steven Parker

PARKER, Steven Garrett - age 48, of Fenton, died Friday, January 15, 2016 as a result of an automobile accident. Services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held 2-7 PM Monday and 11 AM - 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Steven Parker Memorial Fund c/o Collin Parker. Steve was born January 9, 1968 in Detroit. He was a 1986 graduate of Fenton High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army and received a Bachelor degree from Saginaw Valley State University. Steve married Collin Matweychek on October 2, 1999. He was a police officer with Flint Township Police Department. Steve was a loving husband and a fantastic father. He loved karaoke and enjoyed camping and playing pool. Steve was an avid football fan and a horrible golfer. Surviving are: wife, Collin of Fenton; five children, Larsen (15), Bailey (13), Avery (11), Landon (8), and Vaugh (7); mother, Myra Church of Burton; three brothers, Mike Wade, Christopher Shoemaker, and Mark Timocko; uncle and aunt, Sean and Jenny Dennison of Swartz Creek; life-long best friend, Chris Butts; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
