Stephen Veselenak Jr.

Veselenak Jr., Stephen - Age 97, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Goodrich, died January 16, 2020. Private family services will be held at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Stephen was born December 23, 1922 in Czechoslovakia, the son of Steve and Anna (Andreykovich) Veselenak. He married Phyllis Ann Nearing on June 5, 1954 in Flint. Stephen served in the United States Army 33rd division during WWII in the South Pacific. He worked for General Motors, first at Fisher One and then at Buick City. Stephen was a wonderful, patient and loving man. He adored his grandchildren and was a wonderful husband and father. Stephen enjoyed golf and their home in Indian Lake outside of East Tawas. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Linda (Bob) Bowers; grandchildren, Brett (Rebecca), Josh (fiencee Caitlin); 2 great-grandchildren, Emmett and Zephan; sister, Anna Holzwarth; brother, Joseph (Jean) Veselenak; many nieces and nephews.
