TOMEK, Stephen Michael - Of Fenton, age 49, died unexpectedly on April 27, 2006. Visitation will be held 4-8PM Sunday and 4-8PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Please note the funeral location, date and time as it has been changed from a previously published obituary. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide, Fenton, Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial will follow at Tyrone Memory Gardens, Fenton. Steve was born September 19, 1956 to Betty Mae Tomek and the late Charles Louis Tomek of Fenton. He graduated from Fenton High School in 1975 and excelled in athletics including football and westling. He had formal education at Saginaw Valley State University. Steve met his future wife, Debby Dues on a blind date and they celebrated 24 years together. He was the owner of Tomek Poured Walls and was passionate about his business in providing the best service he could. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time with many friends and especially family. Besides his family, Steve loved hunting, his dogs, his home and sports. His philosophy in life was to 'Live life to the fullest - with no regrets.' Steve inspired many of us to live our lives by that adage as well. Surviving are wife, Deb and 3 children, Steve, age 22, Skylar, age 19 and Sophie, age 15 all of Fenton; mother, Betty Tomek of Fenton; sisters, Sharon Gottschalk of Fenton, Susan Mason of Linden and Lori (Tomek) and husband Michael Donlan of Flushing; in-laws, Ron and Tudy Dues; one niece and several nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Charles and brother, Chuck. Contributions may be made to the Stephen Tomek Memorial Fund, Spinal Muscular Atrophy 'SMA'or a charity of your choice.
