Stephen Mason

MASON, Stephen Isaiah - age 20, of Huntington Woods, died Saturday, February 3, 2018. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. The family will receive friends from 3 - 9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Stephen was born April 25, 1997 in Marysville, OH. He graduated with honors from Swartz Creek High School in 2015 where he was active in many sports and clubs including football, track & field, basketball, and lacrosse. Stephen attended the University of Michigan College of Engineering. His summers spent working outdoors with the University of Michigan grounds crew brought him immense satisfaction and pride. He was a hardworking and exceptional young man who found joy in listening to music, driving with the windows down on a warm, sunny day, Netflix marathons, the smell of crisp, cool fall breezes, hammocking with a good book, cooking amazing breakfasts, playing with his favorite dog Murphy, kidding around and laughing about anything and everything with his sister, Rose, and playing video games and discussing life, its challenges and wonders with his best friend and brother, John. Stephen was especially kind-hearted and loved his family and friends. Surviving are: mother and step-father, Heather Davis Mason of Huntington Woods; father, Paul Mason of Grand Rapids; siblings, John Mason and Sophia "Rose" Mason; grandparents, Carol Davis of Swartz Creek; John and Judy Mason; aunts and uncles, Joshua Davis of Swartz Creek, Jason (Mandi) Davis of Swartz Creek, Angie (Rob) Root of Swartz Creek, Jeff (Oksana) Mason of Houston, TX, Joe Mason of Germany, Janet Mason of Madison Heights, Emily (Brent) Ladd of Pittsburgh, PA; Nicholas Mason, and Emely Acevedo; close friends, Abbey Hilden and Arizona Koole; many cousins, family members, and friends.
