Stephanie Lynn Lewis

Stephanie Lynn "Stevi" Lewis - Age 77, of Fenton, passed away April 12, 2025.

Born on December 9, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, Stephanie was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Mae (Nelson) Burley. From an early age, she broke barriers and carved out her own path as one of the first successful female race car drivers, a true pioneer in a male-dominated sport. Her racing career began in California, where she pursued her dreams until she embraced a new adventure-motherhood-after the birth of her son. She later went on to have a 30 year career with General Motors.

On November 28, 1981, Stephanie united in marriage with Jon Lewis, sharing a love that remained radiant until his passing on September 19, 2012. In the warmth of family gatherings and the joy of travel, Stephanie found her greatest happiness. As an unapologetic book lover, devout sports enthusiast, especially of the LA Lakers, and skilled cross-stitch artist, her passions were as varied and vibrant as her life.

Stephanie leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever: her children, Justin (Lisa) Cook and Erin Raabe; her adoring grandchildren, Ethan, Angelina, and Maximus Cook; and her great-grandson, Lincoln, who brought her immense joy. She is also remembered fondly by her brother, Noel (Geraldine) Burley, and her cousin, Debbie (Bob) Hawes. Stephanie was preceded in death by her brother, Michael

As we gather to celebrate Stephanie’s life, let us remember her spirit and her boundless love for family. A memorial service will be held at a later date, where her legacy will be honored and shared among those who loved her dearly.
