Stanley A. Tomczyk, age 92, of Flint, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Visitation will be held at 11 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 12pm Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road in Swartz Creek. Stanley will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan where Military Honors will be performed. Stanley was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Antoni & Stella (Kuzawa)Tomczyk. He was a teacher of Industrial Arts in the Flint school system teaching at many schools and retiring from Flint Southwestern Academy in 1991. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1949. He continued his education at Eastern Michigan University graduating with a teaching degree. Stanley again furthered his education with earning his master's degree from the University of Michigan in 1957 and also his Specialist Degree from Michigan State University all while he worked as a Community School Director.
Stanley proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 - 1955. He was a lifetime member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post No. 8, helping with many festivals and Bingos.
He married Doris Lorraine Erickson on October 6, 1956 at Sacred Hearts Church in Flint, Michigan. He also loved to bowl and golf with many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years of marriage, Doris Tomczyk; his children, Edward (Annamarie), Andrew (Elizabeth), Michael (Elaine), Ted (Laurie) and Stan (Alison); 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and his sister, Genevieve Harrington. Stanley is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Therese, and siblings Joe, Tom, Helen, Ted and Tony.
