Stanley Roy Stone

STONE, Stanley "Roy"- Age 92, of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Genesys Health Park.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush Ave, Grand Blanc.  Pastor Roger Colby officiating.  Burial immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint from 5-9 PM Sunday, 1-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, and at church from 12:00 PM until time of service Tuesday.  Roy was born August 11, 1915 in Haggensville, the son of the Rev. Arthur Stanley and Esther Elizabeth (Taylor) Stone.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corp.  He married Helen Ardis Bishop July 4, 1942 in Lansing.  He worked for Radio Tube Merchandising in sales and repair for 29 years, then retired from Shands Electronics.  He was a member of Grand Blanc United Methodist Church.  He also was a member of the Genesee County Radio Club and the Flint Rock and Gem Club.  He enjoyed playing his harmonica and crafting.  Surviving are: wife, Helen Ardis; daughter, Merry and husband Ken St. John of Jackson; son, James and wife Kathy Stone of Burton; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Roger Stone of Lansing, Thomas Gerald and wife Barb Stone of Rogers City; many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Priscilla Bell; 3 brothers, Leonard "Bud", Arthur and Lynn Stone.  Online condolences and tributes may be posted at the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
