STONE, Stanley "Roy"- Age 92, of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Genesys Health Park. Â Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Grand Blanc United Methodist Church, 515 Bush Ave, Grand Blanc. Â Pastor Roger Colby officiating. Â Burial immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery. Â Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint from 5-9 PM Sunday, 1-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, and at church from 12:00 PM until time of service Tuesday. Â Roy was born August 11, 1915 in Haggensville, the son of the Rev. Arthur Stanley and Esther Elizabeth (Taylor) Stone. Â He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. Â He married Helen Ardis Bishop July 4, 1942 in Lansing. Â He worked for Radio Tube Merchandising in sales and repair for 29 years, then retired from Shands Electronics. Â He was a member of Grand Blanc United Methodist Church. Â He also was a member of the Genesee County Radio Club and the Flint Rock and Gem Club. Â He enjoyed playing his harmonica and crafting. Â Surviving are: wife, Helen Ardis; daughter, Merry and husband Ken St. John of Jackson; son, James and wife Kathy Stone of Burton; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Roger Stone of Lansing, Thomas Gerald and wife Barb Stone of Rogers City; many nieces and nephews. Â He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Priscilla Bell; 3 brothers, Leonard "Bud", Arthur and Lynn Stone.
