Perkins, Stanley Cozadd 'Old Perk'- Age 92, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 3, 2006, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Frank Cozadd officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Duffield United Methodist Church Building Fund.  Stan was born November 8, 1913 in Swartz Creek, the son of Fenton C. and Rubena (Cozadd) Perkins.  He married Naoma Frasier February 14, 1938 in Swartz Creek and he has resided at his family farm his entire life.  He was a life time farmer and a member of Duffield United Methodist Church.  He was a cattleman with a prize-winning herd of registered Shorthorns; judged cattle all over the Eastern United States; The Eastern Representative of the American Shorthorn Breeders Association, as well as the president of the Michigan Shorthorn Breeders Association.  Stan was an Auctioneer for 25 years and the first inductee into the Michigan Auctioneers Hall of Fame in 1992.  He next became an author and publisher of Michigan History and Folklore.  Stan wrote 10 books and published 20 over a period of 23 years.  He was the Chairman of the Brucellosis Committee that made vaccination of cattle manditory to eradicate Undulant Fever.  He and his wife Naoma donated funds to help establish the Perkins Libraries in Swartz Creek and Lennon.  He helped revitalize the Genesee County Fair and served as the president for many years.  He also was a member of many other civic and agricultural organizations.  Surviving are: His wife of 68 years, Naoma; 2 daughters, Marilyn and husband David Scheidemantel of Flushing, Maxine and husband George Ryva of Colts Neck, NJ; grandson, Peter and wife Lisa Ryva of Ellicott City, MD, granddaughter, Susan Ryva and husband Richard Rodriguez of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchilden, Eric and Karly Ryva and Samantha and Megan Rodriguez; 3 nephews, Jim Kanaar, Ralph Kanaar and Thomas Partridge;  He was preceded in death by his sister, June and brother-in-law, Ralph Kanaar.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Avalon Hospice and Ellen, Debra, Stephanie, Freda and Astrid.  Tributes and condolences may be sent at  www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
