Specialist Joseph Dennis JOHNSON

JOHNSON, Specialist Joseph Dennis U.S. Army - Age 24, died in combat on June 16, 2010 in Kunduz, Afghanistan. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on June 26, 2010 at Flint Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 W. Bristol Rd., Flint with Pastors Glen Gardner, David Hintz, and Jim Pope officiating. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be Thursday and Friday 11:00 am to 8:00 pm at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. At Joe's request a memorial fund has been established for his nieces and nephews. Joe was born May 7, 1986 in Flint, the son of Dennis E. and Teri M. (Maxwell) Johnson. He was a 2004 graduate of Carman-Ainsworth High School. Joe served in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Engineer since November 2006 and had served in Afghanistan since December 2009. Surviving are: parents Dennis and Teri Johnson of Mundy Twp; sister Jennifer (Nicholas) Pollak of Albion; nieces and nephews, Hailey, Brennan, Landon, and Brooklyn Pollak; grandparents Eugene and Lois Johnson, Glenna Maxwell; uncles James (Robin) Maxwell and John (Lisa) Maxwell; loving cousins, and very special friend Amanda Gauthier.
