Sophie Lajewski

Lajewski, Sophie - Age 86, of Flushing, died December 14, 2015. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Friday, December 18 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 310 N.Cherry St., Flushing, Fr. Gordon Reigle celebrant. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 5-8 PM Thursday with a scripture service at 6 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be at the church from 10:30-11:30 on Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Robert Church. Sophie was born May 2, 1929 in Flint the daughter of Ludwig and Anna (Smieglewski) Solarz. She was a graduate of All Saints High School. She married Thomas Lajewski on April 12, 1947 in Flint. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking, and Polish traditions. Her most favorite tradition was the Solarz/Piotrowski family reunion every year at Myers Lake. She loved weddings, showers, graduations, and all of the family celebrations and celebrations for her nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Surviving are: husband of 68 years, Thomas; daughter Lorraine (Dennis) Zimmer of Linden; son, Steven (Robyn) Lajewski of Durand; grandchildren, Melanie (Matt) Ralbusky, Kevin(Mary) Zimmer, Brian (Kim) Lajewski, Jacqueline (David) Forrest; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Thomas; brothers, Frank, William, Chester, and Walter; and sisters, Helen, Bernice, Charlotte, and Anne.
