Silvio L. LENZI

LENZI, Silvio "Tony" - of Linden, died January 15, 2012, at the age of 94. The funeral mass will be held 11 AM Wednesday, January 18 at the chapel of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide in Fenton, where he'd been a congregant since 1955. The chapel will be open one hour prior to mass to pay respects. Visitation is Tuesday, January 17 from 2-5 PM and 6-8 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, 1000 W. Silver Lake Road in Fenton. The youngest of six children, Silvio was born in the Upper Peninsula to Italian immigrant parents. He was a proud lifelong Michigander, moving to Flint as a teen and graduating from Flint Northern High School in 1936. He made his career as a tool and dye skilled tradesman with General Motors (AC Spark Plug) and retired after 44 years. Silvio, known as Tony or Bill to family and friends, loved the outdoors and taking walks. He took great joy in oil painting, telling stories, tinkering and making things. Silvio was a people person who loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a sense of humor and an optimism that touched many. Silvio married Marjorie O'Toole Lenzi in 1940 and celebrated his 70th wedding anniversary this past October. Together, they had three children, Sherri Robinson (deceased), Gary Lenzi and Kimberlee Coon. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
