Silviano Fulgencio Jr., age 82, of Fenton, passed away at home with his family at his side on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Silviano was born on March 7, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Silviano Sr. & Emilia Fulgencio; he was the ninth of thirteen. He graduated from Saginaw High School class of 1959. Silviano was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1963 and stationed in Germany until 1965. He married Olga Delgado in 1968 and they had three children, Silvia, Andrea and Carlos. He continued his education at Michigan State University where he graduated in 1974 with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. In 2002, he married Carol Fallis Fulgencio. Together, they spent the next 22 years traveling the world, running local road races, spending time with family and friends, enjoying winters in Mexico and spring and summer in Michigan.

Silviano stayed active throughout his whole life. He was a distance runner for many years and was proud to complete the Detroit Marathon in under 4 hours! Silviano loved working outdoors in his yard, keeping his gardens beautiful. He enjoyed cooking for the company of friends and family and was well known for his fabulous homemade salsa. He appreciated a good red wine or cup of coffee and was fond of dancing, especially to traditional Mexican music. Due to his Michigan State University roots he followed the Spartans and the Detroit Lions. Above all, he always looked forward to his winters in Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico where he had so many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Fallis Fulgencio; his children, Silvia (José,) Ramirez, Andrea (Joe Palmer) Fulgencio, Cuahtemoc (Amanda Brand) Fulgencio, Laura (Emory) Sheldon, Karla Browning, Dave (Carolynn Dougherty) Hense, Michael (Don Koewers) Fallis; daughter-in-law, Renee’ Patterson; fourteen grandchildren, Micaela, Andres, Amalia, Antonio, Sofia, Eron, Eisabela, Aaron, Andrew, Megan, Kirby, Anna, Matthew and Robert. Silviano is further survived by several great-grandchildren, five brothers, Jorge, Enrique, Eduardo, Arturo, José; three sisters, Yolanda, Guadalupe and Hortensia; friend and mother to his three children, Olga Delgado and many nieces, nephews and other dear family members and friends too numerous to list but never forgotten.

In addition to his parents, Silviano Sr. (Emilia) Fulgencio, he was preceded in death by brothers, Javier, Jaime and Hector; sister, Virginia and son, Robert Patterson.

The inurnment and Military Honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on Friday, February 23 at 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial luncheon at The Vault in Holly, MI at 2:30. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Sharp Funeral Home Fenton Chapel has been entrusted with cremation arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Silviano's name to Equality Michigan (EQMI) www.equalitymi.org or Vietnam Veterans Association www.vva.org. Online condolences can be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.

The family would like to thank the many family members and friends who called often, brought more food than an army could eat, and took care of everything so that Carol and his children could remain at Silviano's side.
