Shirley Toombs

TOOMBS, Shirley Arlene- Age 81, of  Davison formerly of Ortonville, died Saturday January 9, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday  January 13, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Abe Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 4PM-8PM Tuesday and 10AM until time of service.  Shirley was born July 16, 1939 in Clare, the daughter of Cecil and Doris (Skeelz) Matthews. She married James Toombs in Escanaba, MI on December 24, 1967 and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2015.  Shirley owned and operated Shirley's hair and nails for 10 years. She was an established artists working in charcoal and oil paints. Surviving are: children, Valerie (Norman) Nonn, Debroah (Jerry) Warrington of Beaverton, Michael (Mary) Kigar of TX, Grady (Emily) Toombs of Shelby Twp., Kelly (Monica) Toombs of Ortonville; grandchildren, Sean Nonn, Lisa Armijo, Rachael Barry, Emma Kigar, Samantha Stevens, Devin Toombs, Savannah Toombs, Zara Toombs; great grandchildren, Skyla Davis, Lylah Stevens, Myklinn Barry. Shirley was also survived by her sisters, Ethel Sharp of Harrison, Thelma Berridge of Burton; sister-in-law, Margaret Matthews of Millington and many nieces and nephews.
