Shirley A. STANKE

STANKE, Shirley A -- Age 81, of Flint, died January 16, 2011 due to complications caused by over exposure of radiation treatment administered at Hurley Hospital. She passed away at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2526 Corunna Rd., Flint. Pastor Daniel Tomczyk will officiate. Shirley was born July 1, 1929 in Charlotte, MI, the daughter of Charles and Libby (Chatfield) Gordon. She married Edward Stanke on October 26, 1952. She retired from IBM with 29 years of service. Shirley loved Sundays, cooking for her family and watching Jeff Gordon win a NASCAR race. She loved watching her flower garden grow, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: husband Edward; son Craig (Gail); granddaughter Kristy (Justin) McLachlan, their boys Griffin and Brodey; grandson Craig (Brenda) Stanke, their children Chase and Elaina; very special angel, sister-in-law Barbara Medina; and family and friends.
