SPEARS, Shirley Mae - age 85, of Flint formerly of Linden, died Monday, October 31, 2011. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 4, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Carl Cooke will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday, 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Shirley was born January 10, 1926 in Flint, the daughter of Lewis and Sophie (Stowell) Conner. She retired from General Motors Fisher Body Ternsted. She married Morris J. Spears Sr. in Flint on March 14, 1943 and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1991. She is survived by her 3 children, Darlene Hyde of Linden, Morris Jr. of Durand and Michael of Flint; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Pearl Papendick and Patsy Barber both of Fenton; brother, Glenn Conner of Flint; several nieces and nephews.
