Shirley Porritt

PORRITT, Shirley Coline - Age 78, of Linden, died Sunday, November 9, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, November 13 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide Street, Fenton. Fr. Dwight Ezop celebrant. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday with an Order of the Eastern Star -Linden Chapter #175 service at 7:30 PM followed by a Rosary at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Family will receive friends at the church from 10AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to Shriners Hospital for Children or Linden Order of the Eastern Star. Shirley was born January 30, 1936 in Decatur Co., Tennessee, the daughter of James and Reth (Teague) Mills. She married John Porritt on October 17, 1977 in Fenton. She worked as a supervisor at AC Spark Plug for 32 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #175. Shirley is survived by her husband, John; children, David (Sheila) Limmer of Mt. Morris, Steven (Brenda) Limmer of Burton, Thomas Limmer of Flint, Lori Limmer of Linden, Matthew Porritt of Flint, Mark Porritt of Flint, Phillip Porritt of Grand Blanc, Paul Porritt of Flint and Rachel Bruno of Owosso; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; step-brothers, Raymond Porritt and Tony Porritt; sisters-in-law, Mary Porritt and Dawn Holcomb; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Dominique; sister, Opal Terebinski and brother, James Mills.
