Shirley Ann Oliver

OLIVER, Shirley Ann - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023 from 1-5 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice.  

Shirley was born July 15, 1936 in Bragg City, MO, the daughter of Edmun and Anna (Baxter) Wasson.  She was a 1954 graduate of Risco High School in Risco, MO.  She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  She married Jarrell R. Oliver July 8, 1972 in Flint and he preceded her in death June 7, 1999.  Shirley retired from the United States Postal Service as a Window Clerk.  She also was a volunteer at McLaren Hospital-Auxiliary.  She was a past president of the Springbrook Homeowners Association.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, bowling, going to Las Vegas, flying and playing the lottery!!!! 

Surviving are: her daughter, Pamela S. (Michael) Rupp of Cincinnati, OH; step daughters, Angela (Ronald) McCormick of Bentonville, AR and Pamela (David) Yocom of Clio; grandchildren, Eric (Chelsey) Rupp of Ross, OH, Haley McCormick of Bentonville, AR, Benjamin (Leslie) Yocom of Clio and Mallory (Cody) Lowe of Bentonville, AR; great grandchildren, Abbi, Alexzander, Zoey, Jackson, Cooper, Emerson, Tucker and Gatlin; brothers, Donald (Jan) Wasson of Omaha, NE and Charles (Pat) Wasson of Lake Wales, FL; sister, Kay (Larry) Williamson of Swartz Creek; and several nieces and nephews.  

She was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Bill Wasson, June Parker, Patty Wasson, Mina Riddle and Ed Gibson.  The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Cardinal Hospice and Wellbridge of Fenton.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
