Shirley Mitchell

Shirley Pauline Mitchell -- 94 years young, of Fenton, formerly of Lake Fenton, passed away December 5, 2019.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, December 11 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday, December 10 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton; and 10 AM until the time of the mass at the church on Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. She married her school sweetheart John Burton Mitchell in Miami, Florida in 1944. Residing at Lake Fenton they raised their three children Paulette, Gary, and Craig.  She was blessed with three grandchildren, Rachele and Erik Edwards and Gary Mitchell II;  seven great grandchildren, Evan, Olivia and Trevor Davidson, Karla and Liliane Edwards and Nicholas and Nolan Mitchell.  Surviving are her children Paulette Edwards of Fenton, Gary and Vicki Mitchell of Fenton; grandchildren Rachele and Greg Davidson and family of Grand Rapids, Erik and Patty Edwards and family of Clarkston; also her loving dog Stella.  She was preceded in death by her husband John Burton Mitchell; son Craig Mitchell;  grandson Gary James Mitchell II; and son in-law Jack Edwards.
