Shirley was born on June 27, 1946 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the daughter of David and Eathel (Lloyd) Oliver. Being the youngest of a very large family, she often helped on the family’s cotton farm until moving to Michigan as a teenager. Shirley graduated from Flint Central High School in 1965. She retired from AC Spark Plug/Delphi after 29 years. She loved visiting her little piece of paradise on Manasota Key in Englewood, Florida. She enjoyed decorating her homes, shopping, Netflix binging and spending precious time with family and friends. She had a very special attachment to her English Bulldog, Harley, who already misses her terribly. To know her was to love her so she leaves behind many very special friends and family that will forever hold a piece of her in their hearts.
She is survived by her children, Toni (Jeff) Fahey, Craig (Jill) Jones, Steve (Jenny) Jones, Tricia (Leonard) Swinehart Jones; grandchildren, Scott (Teresa) Blaska, Jonathan (Emily) Yettaw, Jacob (Lauren) Endicott, Karli Fahey, Brandon Jones, Bryan (Cami) Jones, and Brycen Jones, Elise Miller, and Mallory Miller; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Oliver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Paul Simpson and James Jones; granddaughter, Patty Blaska; siblings, Faye Pope, Nina Speakman, Nora Jane Hicks, Judy Jenkins, Thomas Oliver, and LeRoy Oliver; and nephew, Duane Ayo.
