Shirley Anne Eckerdt

ECKERDT, Shirley Anne - age 73, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, October 12, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 1-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesee Christian School in Shirley's memory. Shirley was born October 21, 1935 in Flint, the daughter of Alexander and Mable (Seebeck) Anderson. She was a 1953 graduate of Flint Northern High school. Shirley married Ernest Eckerdt on August 7, 1954. She worked at Citizen's Bank in the Trust Department until the birth of her first child then she remained at home as a loving wife and mother. Shirley was active in Cross Congregational Church and Judson Baptist Church throughout her life. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek. She enjoyed working on church dinners, crafts and vacation bible schools. Surviving are: husband, Ernest; son, Ernie Eckerdt, Jr.; daughter, Cory Jo Fornari-Bostwick and husband, Mike, all of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Sedrick, Dominic, Whitney Fornari and Ciara Bostwick; sister-in-law, Elaine Anderson of Flint; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alex and Marion Eckerdt of Swartz Creek; nieces and nephews.
