Shirley Hunter

Shirley Ann Hunter, age 78, of Mt Morris (formerly of Owosso) died on May 15, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family. Arrangements provided by the Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan.  www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.

Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023 11am to 3pm at the American Legion Hall, 201 E. Mason St, Owosso.

Shirley is survived by daughters: Kelli (Rod) Chapman of Burton, Traci Wing of Mt Morris; sister Betty Harvey of Holt; grandsons: Ryan (Courtney) Montalvo, Michael Montalvo, Nicholas (Ashleigh) Montalvo; nephews: Robert (Lori) Harvey, David (Olga) Harvey; great grandchildren: Ellery, Oren and Alden Montalvo.

Shirley was born April 29, 1945 the daughter of Rudolf and Lillian (Foreit) Pomikal. She graduated from Owosso High School where she was active in the marching band and dazzled spectators with her baton twirling skills as a majorette. She married Richard Wing in 1964. She worked for WOAP and Midland Ross in Owosso. In 1975 she embarked on a motorcycle adventure to Georgia where she married Milford Hunter. After moving to Mt Morris, she worked for Michigan National Bank and, after retiring from the bank, she worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Flint. She was devoted to her family and her beloved animal companions, Lady and Pumpkin.

Shirley enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes out on her family. She loved camping, picnicking, bonfires and instigating adventures with her grandsons. Shirley had an amazing sense of humor; life with her was always full of laughter. Her true passion was her family. They were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Milford and former husband, Richard.
