ALGER, Shirley Anne - age 83, of Linden, died August 18, 2021. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, August 27, 2021 at The Fenton Freedom Center, 2473 W Shiawassee Ave, Fenton, MI 48430 with Pastor Jim Weigand officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday, August 25 and 1-8 PM Thursday, August 26 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St. Linden, MI 48451. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Freedom Center Kingdom Builders. Shirley was born December 14, 1937 in Highland Park, MI, the daughter of Stan and Helen (McClelland) Lindstrom. She married David Alger on June 22, 1957 at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Livonia, MI. Shirley was a partner with Dave in establishing their business Alger Sales Associates in 1973 and running that business until retirement in 2007. She also owned and operated the Wicker Works in Wonderful Ways, a shop in the old Grain Elevator in Fenton. She was a member of The Fenton Freedom Center Church where she worked to help establish the Food Pantry. She is survived by: her husband of 64 years, David; five children, David Alger II of Punta Gorda, FL, Nancy (Mark) Bowsher of Punta Gorda, FL, Steve (Dawn) Alger of Bellaire, MI, Susan (Nick) Bishop of Shelby Twp., and Andy (Debbie) Alger of Linden; 10 beloved grandchildren, Allison Bowsher, Matthew Bowsher, Lauryn (Bradley) Keiser, Bryan (Hong) Alger, Katie Bishop, Schuyler Bishop, Nicholas Bishop, Melanie Alger, Jordyn Alger, Nathan Alger; and five great-grandchildren, Weston Bishop, Austin, Cameron, Adelyn Keiser, and Zoey Alger.
