Shelia Thomas

THOMAS, Shelia Ruth - age 73, of Henderson, NV, formerly of Genesee, MI, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020.  Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Shelia's life was held in Henderson, NV.

Shelia was born August 19, 1946 the daughter of Gene and Billie (Meeks) Stone.  She was a 1964 graduate of Genesee High School and attended Eastern Michigan University.  Shelia had a gentleness about her and was laughing all the time.  When you were around her, you were always laughing and smiling, she had the most positive attitude. Shelia was always helping those in need, especially her family.  She loved writing poetry and was a member of many writing groups.  Most of all she loved her family, they were her core.  Shelia will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Surviving are: her two children, Khristi Surez and husband Andres of Henderson, NV, Robert Thomas, Jr. and wife Star of Bay City; seven grandchildren, Allie, Michael, Bella, Brexton, Cierea, Braden, Paige; three siblings, Doug Stone of Traverse City, Janie Taubitz and husband Rick of Fenton, Priscilla Stone of Bisby, AZ; her sweet dog, Bubba; beloved nieces and nephews, Kim Hoogenboom, Jenny Ruth Simmonds, Joshua Caudill, Jackie Gifford, Joadie Demo, Emily Taubitz, Richard Taubitz, Bethany Taubitz, Faith Johnson, Harold Ford, and Marrisa Somaza.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; mother-in-law, Marlyn Thomas who was like a mother to her; and many dear aunts and uncles.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
