Sheila was born on July 31, 1955, in Flint, Michigan to the late William & Marlyn (O'Dell) Woodcock. She graduated from Northern High School, class of 1974. She furthered her education at Mott Community College and the University of Michigan where she earned her bachelor's in criminal justice. She worked and retired as a residential supervisor for New Paths Inc, where she worked for many years.
Sheila had a talent of seeing the world in a magical way. She was gifted with the most artistic mind and she frequently crafted for herself, others or with her children and grandchildren. One way in particular in which she worked her magic was in creating fairy gardens right in her own backyard. Sheila was generous to a fault; for each and every occasion she felt the desire to give gifts and attended as many events as possible that were important to those she loved. She especially did this for her grandchildren. She always took it upon herself to proudly host Christmas Eve dinner, where she welcomed everyone with open arms and a place to feel like family. In her earlier years she loved going to the U.P. to camp, hike, swim and vacation. She loved riding Harley's with her husband and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rick Hargraves; children, Shannon (Jason) Donley, Deidre Cotterman and Madalyn Hoover; stepchildren, Hannah (Ben) Chandler, Rindy (John) Shutz, and Angelene Hargraves; grandchildren, Davina, Devon, Brendan, Nen, Morgan, Dominique, Gage, Dade, Layla, Stori, Gabby and Corbin; great-granddaughter, Saylor; and sisters Ellen (Paul) Ashmore and Peggy (Paul) Lewis. Sheila was a mother figure to many and created a circle she called family. She also leaves behind her fur-babies, Tobby, Torri and Nikita; and many friends, family, and framily
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Lopez; son-in-law, Matthew Cotterman; sister, Gail Hope; Grandson, Elijah Smith; and fur-baby, Chico.
