Sharon Marie Wood

WOOD, Sharon Marie - Age 66, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at McLaren Flint. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski will preside with burial following in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 21 and again from 12:00 PM until the time of service Thursday. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the McLaren Hospitality House, G-3170 Beecher Road, Flint.

Sharon was born on March 19, 1957 in Flint, the daughter of the late Jerome and Doris (Harvey) Ammerman. She graduated from Swartz Creek High School, class of 1975. Sharon and Ross were united in marriage on January 20, 1979. Sadly, he preceded in death on June 10, 2016. She worked in the medical field for many years as an EMT, CPR instructor and at McLaren Flint. Sharon's last position was working at Syring Elementary School. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee with her husband, BINGO and traveling up north to St. Ignace. Sharon loved spending time with her family and the children at Syring Elementary School. She was a super mom to many. Sharon loved volunteering with many places to include the Hammerberg Memorial VFW Post 3720 in Swartz Creek and the McLaren Hospitality Hospice. 

She is survived by her children, Heather Wood (Jason), Kevin (Ashley) Wood and Christopher (Melissa) Wood; grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Avery, Kaden, Tara, Tyler and Clara Wood; siblings, Jack (Loanna) Ammerman, Jerry (Diane) Ammerman and Evelyn (Ken) Petterson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
