BERNARD, Cher, age 57, of Flint passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at her residence. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Mr. Chad Bernard officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 PM Saturday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Heartland Hospice or the American Lung Association. Cher was born August 2, 1951 in Elkton, Maryland, the daughter of William and Edna (Davis) Jones. Cher met Bob in Florida then moved to Michigan in 1978 and married Bob July 1, 1978 in Davison. Cher stayed at home and raised her son, Robbie who was born in 1981 and loved being at home in order to take care of her family. Cher enjoyed spending time at her up north cottage where she felt at peace, singing and telling stories around the camp fire and watching the sunset. Cher also enjoyed fishing, watching movies and writing poetry. Surviving are: husband, Bob; son, Rob; sisters, Carolyn Diebold (Dan) and Nancy Hulsfelt (Norman); brothers, William Jones (Carol) and Tom Jones (Pam); mother-in-law, Harriette Mason (Alby); many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
