Sharon L. Atherton

ATHERTON, Sharon L. - age 70, died May 30, 2007 in Bushnell, FL.     A Graveside service/internment will be held 11 AM Saturday June 30, 2007 at Sunset Hills. Because she loved life and desired to have us celebrate her life rather than mourn her passing, the children will host a picnic at her son's home following. For directions contact Jan at hooverj2@comcast.net. Mrs. Atherton was born June 30, 1936 to Viola and Kenneth Jones in Flint, MI and was a 1954 graduate of Dye High School. She married Raymond C. Atherton July 3,1954. He predeceased her on August 9, 1991. Mrs. Atherton worked many years in the Jewelry business in Flint at Max Davis, Osterman's, and Irvin Hirsch. She was a Girl Scout leader, member of Loners on Wheels, and settled in their park in Bushnell, Florida with her partner Don Anders. She liked playing cards and going to the casino. Although she loved living in Florida, she missed her grandchildren and was thrilled to have them all with her at once when she hosted her granddaughter's wedding in February. Surviving are: 2 children: Janice (Terry) Hoover and Raymond L. (Julie Atherton); 3 grandchildren: Kay (Ron) Vandermeer, Christopher Atherton, and Timothy Atherton; 1 great grandchild: Jordan Jean Vandermeer Sister: Patricia Hypes Nieces and Nephews.
