Severiana "Vita" Guajardo

Guajardo, Severiana "Vita" - age 80 of Flint, died December 26, 2023. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI 48529 with Rev. Fr. George Bidzogo celebrant. Interment will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473 where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held from 10 AM - 11 AM Wednesday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Divine Mercy group at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Vita was born September 8, 1943, in Weslaco, Texas, the daughter of Ramon and Severiana (Saldana) Espinoza. She married Arturo Guajardo, Jr. on April 14, 1966. Vita retired from Flint Community Schools where she was a Bilingual Parent Facilitator for many years. Vita worked as the secretary for Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for many years. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and Catechism teacher at both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She was involved in Catholic Charities and the soup kitchen at St. Michael Catholic Church. Vita was also involved in the Cursillo Movement and Christ Renews His Parish as well as many other Catholic Ministries. Surviving are: husband, Arturo; three daughters, Nelda Guajardo, Cynthia (Joe) Duvall, and Gloria (Dennis) Emmendorfer; grandchildren, Daniel Taylor, Robert Duvall, Joshua Taylor (Samantha Rayburn), Michael Duvall, Jonathan Duvall, Kayla Emmendorfer, Arturo Emmendorfer; honorary son, Freddie Martinez; honorary daughters, Linda Krupa and Lori Parks; extended family members, Monaca (Duane) Elston, Raquel Ramos, Ryan (Krystal) Allie, Darrin (Heather) Allie, Rachel Renaud, Brooke Landry, Jake Wood, Rachel DeFer, and great-grandson, James DeFer; siblings, Ramon (Carmen) Espinoza, Jr., George (Shari) Espinoza, and Cane (Fred) Alainis; special friends, Russell Allie, Fr. Eduardo Lorenzo, Mary Boswick and all the ladies from the Divine Mercy group at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ramon and Severiana Espinoza, siblings, Mere Martinez, Lilie Jaramillo, Francisco Espinoza, Santos Espinoza, and Martin Espinoza; nephews, Ramon Espinoza III and Robert Espinoza.
