Scott Edward DOTY

DOTY, Scott Edward, age 56, of Grand Blanc, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at home. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church, 2051 Maple Rd., Flint. Rev. Paul Boerger officiating. The family will receive friends 2:00 p.m. Saturday until time of service at the church. Scott was born July 31, 1955 in Lansing the son of Edward and Joan (Dixon) Doty. He graduated in 1973 from Grand Blanc High School and later earned his Bachelor Degree from Oakland University Police Academy. He was the owner and operator of SEA Corporation in Grand Blanc. Scott was previously employed as a police officer by Grand Blanc City, Grand Blanc Twp. and Mt. Morris Twp. He was an assistant Boy Scout Leader and a member of Peace Lutheran Church serving as Head Elder. Surviving are his two children, Aaron Doty of Alexandria, VA, and Kristin Doty of Grand Blanc, and their mother, Debra Doty of Grand Blanc; parents, Edward and Joan Doty of Grand Blanc; 3 sisters, Leslie Mooers of Enid, OK, Lee Riedl of Grand Rapids, Laura Doty of Boise, ID; 2 nephews, Neal and Richard Mooers; niece, Danielle Cline; mother-in-law, Barbara Sloan; sister-in-law, Delyne Sloan both of Burton; brother-in-law, Dennis Sloan (Linda) of Argentine. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Antony Daros for his professional care and to Ron and Karen Jonas for their love and support.
